Sunday musings

Do you ever have those moments when you feel flooded with profound insights and you can't type or write fast enough to catch every word as it flows into your mind? It has been one of those weeks. I decided to do a modified fast this week and took some things to the Lord that I needed help with. I am amazed at His mercy and love. I am amazed at His tender response to the prayers I have been praying recently. I know He hears me. I know that fasting shows Him our sincerity and I think He has blessed us with that commandment so we can experience a greater awareness of the work He is doing in us.

Rich and I enjoyed this video on youtube so much.

We watched it before church today and it really prepared us to receive the blessing of going and renewing our covenants by partaking of the sacrament.

I am grateful for this little boy today and the way God is blessing him to draw others to Christ.

In my neighborhood and at work I am surrounded by such wonderful Christian people. I love it. But recently I watched a video on line and was shocked at the way a local Pastor presented what I supposedly believe. I feel so misrepresented. I feel like my friend just told all my other friends a bunch of lies about what I believe. He interviewed a member of the church and I learned that when he contacted the church to interview someone, he made a few promises. One was that the title of his sermon would be, "The differences between Protestants and Mormons" but he didn't do that. He used the title Christians instead of Protestants. He also promised that the church could view it before he presented it, but he didn't do that. The damage is done, hundreds of my neighbors sat through his sermon and took it in as the gospel truth about what Mormons believe. He, a supposed well read man, presented twisted versions of truth. Where does that leave me. I am hurt by this. This is largely why I fasted this week. And I have been so comforted and lifted by my Savior, Jesus Christ. I believe in Him. I believe in the Bible and all that it teaches about Jesus Christ, and about His Father, and about the Holy Ghost who testifies to me that what I believe is the truth.

In response to some of the things that were said, I decided to use a blog as an outlet for my desire to tell the truth of what I believe.

My name is Roberta, I live in Minnesota, and I am a Mormon.
